寤也。从見，學省聲。一曰發也。古岳切
说文解字注
（覺）悟也。悟各本作寤。今正。心部曰。悟者、覺也。二字爲轉注。㝱部曰。寐覺而有言曰寤。非其義也。何注公羊、趙注孟子皆曰。覺、悟也。左傳。以覺報宴。杜曰。覺、明也。引伸之、抑傳曰覺、直也。此因覺與斠？㬪韵雙聲而言。又引伸之、斯干傳曰有覺、言高大也。从見。學省聲。古岳切。三部。一曰發也。此義亦見廣雅。卽警覺人之意。
