以物質錢。从敖貝。敖者，猶放；貝，當復取之也。之芮切

（贅）㠯物質錢。若今人之抵押也。漢嚴助傳。賣爵贅子。以接衣食。如淳曰。淮南俗賣子與人作奴婢名爲贅子。三年不能贖遂爲奴婢。按大雅傳曰。贅、屬也。謂贅爲綴之假借也。孟子。屬其耆老。大傳作贅其耆老。公羊傳云。君若贅旒。史、漢云。贅壻。此爲䏈屬之偁。又莊子云。附贅縣肬。老子云。餘食贅行。此爲餘賸之偁。皆綴字之假借。从敖貝。會意。之芮切。十五部。敖者猶放。敖、出游也。放、逐也。敖與放義不同而可通。故曰猶。謂貝當復取之。謂字依韵會補。放者當復還。贅者當復贖。其義一也。此十字釋敖貝之意。
